January Writing Prompts

Welcome to the new year! Now it’s time for January writing prompts.

New beginnings are a great time to refresh your writing practice and establish or continue a consistent writing schedule.

We use a calendar to define some of our beginnings such as a new year, a birthday, or a wedding.

  • Reflect on the last year. What was the best moment? Write about it in minute detail and include all the senses: sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste.

  • Cast your mind forward 10 years. Describe your life in 5 sentences.
  • January is the best month of the year because…

Here’s to a fabulous writing year for all of us!
