April Writing Prompts

Ah yes, spring is here and days are sporadically warm or cold depending on Mother Nature’s mood.

Need a little push, or a little pull, or a seed of an idea to keep those writing juices flowing? Want to continue building your daily writing practice?

I pulled together a few writing prompts for April, or anytime, including 2 am on a Wednesday morning in September if you want. Writing prompts don’t care when you use them.

April Writing Prompts

  • Describe spring from the viewpoint of your favorite spring flower.
  • If your electricity went out for a full 12 hour day in April, how would you fill your time?
  • Write a pros and cons list of the spring season. Now choose one item from each list and expand on it for a full page of at least 250 words.
  • Create a conversation between winter and spring.
  • What colors do you associate with spring and why?

Enjoy these writing prompts and pat yourself on the back for writing today!

One writing step at a time.
